lincoln-landscapes: An old oak tree which Abraham Lincoln likely traveled past over 150 years ago still stands along the Lincoln Trail Road. The oak tree was likely a fairly large tree at the time. This section of the old road is near Muncie and Oakwood. Lincoln road by this location in a one-horse buggy (and probably by horse only) as he traveled between Danville and Champaign-Urbana traveling the Eighth Judicial Circuit. The Lincoln Trail Road is one of the few remaining stretches of the original road Lincoln traveled as part of the circuit.
